Iman Zawahry's films have shown in 100 venues worldwide and she was hailed by the former artistic director of the Sarasota Film Festival as "The funniest filmmaker I've seen. A true treasure of humor."

A graduate of Florida State University's MFA program, her film “Tough Crowd” won an Student Emmy Award and qualified as a finalist in the NBC Comedy Short Cuts. The Directors-In-Training program at NBC nominated Iman as a finalist for its exclusive program. 

Iman was a recipient of the coveted Princess Grace Award and shot the film "UnderCover" that she produced, directed, and co-wrote.

Iman aims to create diversity in the film industry and has collaborated with the not for profit organization, Islamic Scholarship Fund, to create the first ever American Muslim film grant launched in 2014.  She also was a consultant on the television shows "The Odyssey" and "The Big C".

She recently produced her first feature with Sundance Alum, Adam Bowers. She is currently writing a feature with critically acclaimed theater actress, Aizzah Fatima, which advanced to the final round of Sundance Writer's Lab.

Iman teaches production at the University of Florida College of Journalism.
